Chinese antique Ningxia runner fragment (137 x 68cm)

In the northern Chinese province of Ningxia these loosely made runners were made for scholars’ mats in temples with many exported to Tibet where this was likely found. Such runners can comprise 3-5 or more seating placements. This fragment example has one seating unit and a little more than two halves remaining.
