Turkish antique lightweight cotton wood block print shawl (181 x 99cm)

This antique wood block printed Turkish shawl imitates an Indian Kashmir shawl of the 19th C. Skilfully done by limiting the indigo uptake by discharging the ground colour. The edges are hemmed by hand sewing. Some variation in colour as might be expected given this technique.
