It is unusual to see a Suzani embropidery on a silk chequered silk ground and makes for an effect that is quite an arresting effect.

Southern Uzbekistan likely Shakhrisabz but popularly described Lakai or Lakaiski after a semi nomadic Uzbek group that migrated south presumably by Moscovite imperial expansion and were settled around Southern Uzbekistan and Northern Afghanistan.

Some small tears in the silk have been carefully sewn down.
