Kermanshah rugs are rarely seen since the output of this region seems slight and consequently numbers have not reached the west in quantity. On occasion oversize carpets are sometime s seen seen so the weaving must ahve been well organised - something also seen in their restrained intelligent subtlety.
Confusingly somewhat similar rugs and carpets were made in the early 19th cent and that go by the tradename Kerman-Afshar so we have two similar sounding names for two gifted weaving centres with limited but similar output ( oversize included )
