Chinese silk damask throne back lining for Tibet (60 x 50cm approx)


Formally previously sewn to the back of an arch shaped wool knotted carpet technique  hone back which usually depicted a dragon also in yellow colour. This  would have been the back part seen here in silk of an imperial yellow  (?) • Possibly for a Tibetan Abbot or deity since they usually appear not much used.
