This handmade large rug / small carpet from West Turkey comes in an unusual hard to find square size format. The design looks to be taken from Bessarabian or Ukrainian tapestry kilim something evidenced from the black background of the border. It is in excellent pile condition but part of the fringing at one end has disappeared and has been carefully patched in at one end. No other part of the rug itself is damaged or missing.
