This small weaving was almost certainly once the decorative front section of a large container bag which had a plain weave back. Given the remarkably good condition is is unlikely ever to have been used in a utilitarian fashion. Weavings from the Toros mountainous area south of the Central Anatolian plain often accompanied by the further description Mutt.
