371 x 142 cm
This 19th cent long rug features and unusual cochineal dye in common with many Armenian rugs. It is in good pile condition with wonderful lustrous wool yarn. The as yet unread presumably commemorative inscription may contain an AH date 1280 (1863 AD).
The rug has been shortened at some stage not less than 75 cm and some of the pieces that were originally formed the side are now arranged across one end given a different pile direction. Further work is required in one corner
