Turkish antique flatwoven cicim rug (188 x 164cm)

This rare and unusual square proportioned rug comprises of large box shapes in rows, which goes to accentuate a squat impression. Made in SW Anatolia / Asia Minor, the weft float construction is particular to the region and is known in Turkish as CiCim (my pretty). 


Some decent professional repairs have been done to the sides and corners of the rug rendering it in good order. It would benefit from underlay for better ususability and that is included in the price compris.
