In the hem or border at the bottom of the skirt depictions of maidens can be seen wearing flowing sarees with stoles each bearing flowers and a stripped flag. This flag configeration is not that of the modern Indian stripped flag indicating a pre 1947 date.
This weft pattern brocade uses thin floss sik has fine flat silver flex which is hardly twisted into it and laid almost parallel alternating with a yarn more dominantly silver in smaller sections. That is the fact the silk itself produces a beguiling result.
The skirt is lined with an indo cloth on the bias to the fall.
