Sumba Hinggi cotton warp ikat cloth (258 x 118cm)

From the eastern Indonesian island of Sumba this special ikat weaving serves as a man's shoulder cloth, or hinggi, from the east part of Sumba itself. 
Ikat weaving was revived in 1980s and this item is a spectacular example from that time.
