This antique runner has small repeat design which has suble variability. There are slight losses at each to the outer guard border both both are now tethered. The side selvedges have also been strengthened with overcasting. Losses to the black colour is in partial relief is due to the presence of ferrous material in the dye stuff and is something that has occurred naturally and enhances the good patina of this antique runner.
