Probably produced in Damascus this small table emulating an earlier Turkish style. The marquetry is of contrasting timbers and mother of pearl onto a lightweight pine structure. Some minor pieces of mother of pearl are missing and some slight abrasions to the corners otherwise in very good condition.

The sides have an Arabic saying that was popular in the early 1900s: ' Salamat al Insan Fi Hifz al-Lisan '( The wellbeing of man is in guarding his tongue )
