This rug by repute belonged to the renowned archaeologist Heidi Seton Howard Frederick Lloyd, CBE (30 May 1902 – 7 January 1996). He was once President of the British School of Archaeology in Iraq during which time this rug was presumably obtained or alternatively in 1948 when he became Director of the British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara. He excavated with, amongst others, the renowned James Mellaart.

This rug is very worn indeed and showing one small hole, which we will fix for any potential buyer. A supporting non slip underlay will be provided within the asked price.
