This remarkly long silk gown must have been designed to be used ceremoniously. Otherwise impracticle unless you happen to be 2m or 6ft 6" tall . Although it ciuld be designed to be ticked in at the waist although thehre is no evidence of this ever being done. Given the complexity of the two colour ' oya ' trim and the fact it has a pocket means this long attari type robe could not have been a show piece or for display purposes. More likey attire for a matromony. The ravishing canary yellow colour is almost perfectly preserved.
The belt is not part of the costume as offered
Probably late 19th cent
