Like our own production, this Istanbul based maker was influenced by the early 1980s Dobag production. Without argument this maker produced some of the very best wool rugs made in Turkey in the late 20th century. Much like ours, these pieces were produced with natural dyes and hand-spun wool to very exacting standards. Tolga Tolu's limited output came with characteristically high pile, as is this example of around 12mm. The rug is badged with the signature of a circled T confirming the maker.
