Turkmen Ersari Jollar torba kapunuk kejebe (165 x 39cm)

£ 175.00

165 x 39 cm  //  5ft 4" x 1ft 3"

In this form, these later long narrow torba bags (as they are imagined to be) go by the Afghan term 'Jollar' or 'Kejebe', a decorative trapping as a marriage tribute. The curled  leaf form as seen here, is however what is usually employed in a 'Kapunuk' (door surround) and therefore, this conveys the impression of an intended use above the door frame of a felt Yurt / Gerh.

A beautiful pile trapping in excellent condition, from southern Uzbekistan or Northern Afghanistan
