Turkmen Yomut carpet Soviet period (358 x 202cm)

This well made carpet is either from the SW of Soviet Republic of Turkmenistan of the time or much more likely in Khorossan. It features a Classic Tekke design but is betrayed by Yomut features in the borders and ends. Not a workshop carpet but evidently a cottage industry product. The carpet remains in good condition with some irregularities in the fringes and one repair in the field.
