West African Ashanti or Ewe kente mantle (170 x 103cm)

170 x 103 cm  //  5ft 7" x 3ft 4"

Made up of twelve longitudinal handwoven strips the coloured weft brocade pieces in silk done on indigo cotton ground - probably made for a boy.

Condition: small darn repair in the end of a single strip and an outer border possibly removed
