Mounted on green velvet almost identical to another sold at Christie's South Kensington and what is described as a table cover. Very probably drawn from a design by May Morris the daughter of William Morris and executed by the firm. Whilst the form is correct as evidenced from the CSK piece we believe the green velvet not to be original with the Morris work re-applied onto a faithfully acquired similar velvet at some stage.
