Yastik is the Turkish name for pillow bolster and our example may have once been part of a household set. In central Anatolia these covers were stuffed with reeds, typically from Lake Beyshehir, to form a solid cushion. As is often the case with these, only the decorative face remains but in good condition.
The technique is weft brocade and all wool sometimes known as chi-chim / cicim
