This large thin wood block printed cotton comprises of two slightly unaligned parts was almost certainly made for the purposeful intention to be the upper surface for a cotton a qulted bedding cover but likely never used as such.
Kandili is an Asian suburb of Istanbul which formally had a significant Greek population where cotton printing went on and by which term these prints are popularly known. The other larger centre of woodblock printing being Tokat close to Izmir in Western Turkey, this being the more probable attribution.
Carefully conserved by linning with light muslin weight cotton. The fabric has faded due to sun light to soft pinky hues.
