Ottoman Levantine jardiniere (78 x 33 x 33cm)

This tall item with under-tier possibly once sported a potted plant like a palm. The item itself is made of either or both walnut or apricot wood, carved with mother of pearl inlay.


A small label underneath the table top reads 'Pilcher & Sons Folkstone'. What appears to be a 1935 date in pencil indicates when the item was moved or stored, presumably the item having spent a generation or two in a household having been sold in the Edwardian period.
