('Ballisht') 'Balisht' or 'Pushti' bags come with a plain weave backing and serve a dual purpose to the semi nomadic peoples of Western Afghanistan that make them. Either as a cushion sideways holding bedding during the day or as a utility luggage on the march. Usually these are in course pile on the face side (as in a rug) but this fine vintage example is made in a weft float brocade technique. The peice remains in excellent fresh condition.
