Edwardian printed cotton velvet - birds / fruits (288 x 78cm)

Such heavy velvet drapes were traditionally used in homes  as draught excluding door curtains however the length of this cloth with the slight fade down one side points to it having been used conventionally as a window curtain. The depictions and colour saturation calls to mind verdure tapestries.

Backed with what supposes to be the original cotton lining
