Woven into the centre is what appears to be an interwoven monogram incorporting the letters W and V or M and V. This may have been the result of a commission to symolise the intertwinement of a marriage union.
The tapestry is in good condition having been carefully looked after in its lifetime and is currently undergoing conservation work to include the addition of a linen liner to provide greater stability - that ongoing work thay can be seen in the photos and the price includes such work.
