French vintage petit point rug (140 x 87cm)

£ 320.00

140 x 87 cm  //  4ft 7" x 2ft 10"

A kawung type motif of connecting circles as medallions with a positive and a quartered minor device. It is most likely French but possibly could be English. The petit-point technique skews the rug towards one side, something that the photo exaggerates. In modern day commercial products, say Chinese mass produced, it would be factory perfect and square, therefore telling of individual creativity and skill.

The rug is of adequate weight but unlined - something that could possibly be arranged by us. Otherwise it can come with a complimentary non-slip underlay.
