The Abochinay / Abochhini shawl is embroidered in brilliant lustrous floss silk onto what looks a natural Turkey Red cotton base. Likely made for a betrothal albeit in a rather minimalist manner for the style for the manner and region which may be a factor when regarding its age.
The cloth has some rips which have been carefully darned back together and does not diminish the fresh and lively overall impression.
