Although very much in the appearance in terms of colour to that of a Sparta or Isparta carpet however the very fine and dense quality is that of the former imperial Ottoman workshops of Hereke close by to Istanbul which became state owned under Sümerbank.
Two borders have been removed and a patch in what is now the outer border at one end. The sielvedges have been recovered. Otherwise condition is fair to good.
