Presumably one of what was once a pair of bags forming a khojian panier set. The remaining single unit now ideal say for a cushion, with its original back. The precise weaving of the face is done in the rare reverse soumak technique, so called due to it being woven from the back, thus in reverse as opposed from the conventionally weft wrapping technique known as soumak. This produces an accurately drawn and even stronger weaving than what might be termed 'usual'. The presence of a Perkins type mauveinem dye accurately places the date to the early 1870s / late 1860s.
