This kilim is just one part of a traditional Anatolian kilim that were originally two joined twin parts. Woven from a narrow loom possibly by a semi nomadic pastoralist group . Judging from the use of cotton and cochineal dye the piece would have originated from the Adana region of southern Turkey the group known collectively as either Rashwan or Reyhanli. The kilim strip is preserved in almost perfect condition.
