This part silk textile towel 'Pestemal' or 'Peshtemal' as it is probably more correctly pronounced in Turkish, has a fascinating detail of the Ottoman customs seal, which is more often seen on Greek Island objects. This is designed to be be a prestigeous adornment for relaxing after the bath rather than for some utilitarian pupose.

Purchased in Bursa (Western Turkey) and very likely made there
