Almost certainly the work of the celebrated Zeki Müren, a flamboyant Turkish singer and cultural icon who designed carpets in Western Turkey in 1980s (Isparta or Manisa).
The finished pile is short has been rubbed down in places either deliberately or in previous use to achieve this particular finish.
