Such large embroideries were commonly used in wedding ceremony halls or as a dowry tribute and domestic decoration in Uzbekistan. This example possibly bares the Latin date 1981 but the piece seems a little older somehow. It has hanging tags on its left side and comes without a backing. Very unlikely this was made for trade.
